There are basically three isomers of pentane.
1. First isomer is the simple straight schain isomer with no branching.
It's IUPAC name is simply pentane and common name is n-pentane
2. the second one has a branched methyl group and it has the following structure of the atoms.
It's IUPAC name is 2 methyl butane and the common name is isopentane
3. the third isomer is also a branched isomer and the IUPAC name is
2,2 dimethylpropane and common name is neopentane.
