Given :

  • Length of the brick = 22cm
  • Breadth of the brick = 15cm
  • Length of the court = 30m
  • Breadth of the court = 22m

To find :

  • Number of bricks required to pave a court 30 m long and 22 m wide.

Solution :

\sf~\to~Area~ of~ the ~brick = Length \times Breadth

\sf~\to~Area~ of~ the ~brick = 22 \times 15

\sf~\to~Area~ of~ the ~brick = 330~sq.cm

Now,

\sf~\to~Area ~of~ the~ court = Length \times Breadth

\sf~\to~Area ~of ~the ~court = 30 \times 22

\sf~\to~Area ~of ~the~ court = 660~sq.m

Converting area of the court (660 sq.m) into sq.cm :

We know,

\sf~~~~~~~1~m=100~cm

Therefore,

\sf~~~~~~~660~m=66000~cm

\sf~~~~~~~660~sq.m=6600000~sq.cm

Finally,

\sf\twoheadrightarrow\:No.~of~bricks~=\frac{Area~of~court}{Area~of~each~brick}

\sf\twoheadrightarrow\:No.~of~bricks~=\cancel{\frac{6600000}{330}}

\sf\twoheadrightarrow~No.~of~bricks~=20000

\bf~Therefore,

\bf~~~~~~~~~~~The~number~of~brick~required~is~20000.
