SOLUTION :-

=> For wall,

=> Converting into same units, we have ,

=> Length of the wall = 32m = 32 × 100 = 3200cm. => Breath of the wall = 3m = 3 × 100 = 300cm.

=> And the height = 40cm.

=> For brick,

=>Length of the brick = 25cm.

=>Breath of the brick = 15cm

=>Height of the brick = 8cm.

Now, we have to find number of required bricks.

=>Number of required bricks = Volume of wall / Volume of brick

=> Number of required bricks = 3200 × 300 × 40 / 25 × 15 × 8 .

=>Number of required bricks = 128 × 20 × 5.

=>Number of required bricks = 12800.

Hence, the required number of bricks is 12800.

Given:

A wall is built that is 32m long, 3m high, 40cm thick with bricks that are 25 by 15 by 8 cm in dimensions.

To Find:

The total number of bricks used to build the wall is?

Solution:

1. The dimensions of the wall are 32m by 3m by 40cm.

2. The volume of the wall is calculated using the formula,

=> Volume of the wall = (length)x(width)x(height),

3. The units of the dimensions of the wall are not the same hence, convert the units such that all the units are similar.

=> 1 meter implies 100 centimeters,

=> 32m implies 32 x 100 = 3200 centimeters,

=> 3m implies 3 x 100 = 300 centimeters.

4. The volume of the wall is,

=> Volume of the wall = 3200 x 300 x 40,

=> Volume of the wall = 38400000 cm³.

5. The volume of each brick is,

=> The Volume of each brick = 25 x 15 x 8,

=> The volume of each brick = 3000 cm³.

6. Each brick occupies a volume of 3000 cm³,

=> The total number of bricks such that it occupies a total volume of 38400000 cm³ is (38400000/3000),

=> Total number of bricks used = 38400/3,

=> Total number of bricks used = 12800.

Therefore, the total number of bricks used to build the wall is 12800.
