The act of charging a phone from 80 to 100 puts a lot more stress on a battery than charging from 40 to 60 or 60 to 80. A lot more. You are equating the two 20% charges for stress level when it is not the case. In fact charging a full 40% from 30 to 70 is less stress on a battery than just 20% of 80 to 100.
