In case of humans , there are 46 chromosome (2n) in each somatic cell .. during fertilization, two types of haploid ( n = 23 chromosome ) gametes ( sperm and ovum) fuse together to form a zygote(46 chromosomes) inside the female's body , that further develops produce an embryo.
