How many circles can be cut out from a strip of dimension 5/4 & 35/4?

diameter of circle=5/4cm=d= width of aluminium strip

length of aluminium strip= 35/4cm=l

now , no of full circles that shalini can cut is same as the no of full circles with diameter 5/4 cm that can fit in 35/4 cm of aluminium strip.

hence n= l/d = 35/4÷5/4 = 7

also wasted area = area of aluminium strip - area of 7 circles

=> W= 35/4*5/4 - 7×π*r2 cm2

=> W= 175/16 - 7×22/7×(5/8)2

=> W= 175/16 - 275/32

=> W= 75/32 cm2
