How many combinations can be made with 4 numbers?

First of all it depends on that whether the 4 numbers are same or not.

1. If all 4 numbers are same then obviously only one combination can be formed.

2. If 3 numbers among the 4 are same then 4 combinations can be made ( e.g. 1112, 1121, 1211, 2111).

3. If 2 numbers are same among the 4 then 8 combinations can be made.

4. If all 4 are different then 24 combinations can be made ( hint: 4x3x2x1)
