Electricity required to produce 4.5 grams of aluminium from molten aluminium chloride is 48250 coulombs.

●According to faraday first law mass of substance deposited at their electrodes is directly propotional to the charge flow through it.

SO W=zit

Where z is electerovalent equivalence z=E/F where E is equivalent weight and F=96500 coulomb.

Equivalent weight=molecular weight/3=27/3=9=E

W=z(q/t)t so W=zq

Substituting value W=4.5g and. Z=E/F so Z=9/96500

So 4.5=(9/96500)q

So q=4.5×96500/9

Hence q=48250 coulombs.

So electricity required to produce 4.5g of aluminium is 48250 coulomb.
