let the number of cubes be n

volume of a cube = a^3

8 = n(0.5)^3

8 = 0.125n

n = 8÷0.125

n = 64

therefore 64 cubes are required to build a cube of 8cm3.

Side of Cube 1 = Cube root of 8

=2

Side of cubes 2 = 0.5

Therefore number of cubes required = 2/0.5

=4
