Wells are cylindrical in shape, so, we will be using the formula for volume of cylinder.

Diameter of well = 7m

Radius of well (r) = 3.5m

Height of well (h) = 7m

Amount of earth required = Volume of the well = πr²h

= 22/7×(3.5)²×7

= 22/7×3.5×3.5×7

= 22×3.5×3.5

= 269.5 m³
