Dear Students,

◆ Answer -

5 cycles of PCR

◆ Explaination -

PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction. It's the in vitro technique used for amplification of nucleic acids.

No of copies of nucleic acid are doubled after each cycle. So after n number of cycles, total number of copies are 2^n.

To make 32 copies of dsDNA -

2^n = 32

2^n = 2^5

Comparing two sides, n = 5.

Therefore, 5 cycles of PCR need to be carried out to obtain 32 copies of ds-DNA.

Hope this helps.
