420 different signals can be transmitted.

Total number of blue flags = 2

Total  number of red flags = 2

Total   number of yellow flags = 4

Therefore,

Total number of flags = 2 + 2 + 4 = 8

Number of flags on the pole simultaneously  -

= (8!/2! 2! 4!)

= (8 × 7 × 6 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1) / (2 × 1 × 2 × 1 × 4 × 3 × 2 ×1)

= 40320/96

= 420

= 420 signals

Thu, 420 signals can be transmitted.
