For administrative purposes, the State is divided into three Divisions, namely Mandi, Kangra, Shimla.

The divisions are further sub-divided into 12 districts viz., Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmour, Solan and Una.

The Districts are further Sub-Divided into 53 Sub-Division, 79 Tehsils and 37 Sub-Tehsils.
