Vishnu, Savitr, Pushan, Rudra,  Brahmanaspati  & were invoked as were natural deified phenomena like  Prithivi (Mother Earth, the earth, ), Vata/Vayu (the wind), Surya (Sun god), Dyaus Pita (the Father Heaven, the shining sky ), Parjanya (the rain & thunder), Apas (the waters). A number of rivers were invoked as well(notably , and the Sarasvati River & Sapta Sindhu)
