The filling of electrons is determined by the number of shells it has and maximum electron filled is 2n^2 where n=no of shell

All three sub-orbitals can hold maximumtwo electrons thus making a total of six electrons. Therefore, 1s orbital has two electrons and 2p orbital has six electrons. Because s orbital has one sub orbital and porbital has three sub orbital. Each sunorbital has capacity to have 2 electrons.
