The electronic configuration of Fe3+ is , 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s0 3d5 As half filled and and fully filled orbitals are most stable, electrons from 4s orbital jumps into 3d orbital. Hence 5 electrons are present in outermost shell.

velraja: its wrong the answer is 3d5.i dont know how it come
velraja: they put 4s0 3d5
swtynegi138: I wrote the configuration of fe. Fe3+ has 23 electrons. Now check the answer if you still have doubts youre free to ask :)
