first we neet to find out the electronic configuration
⇒24=2,8,8,6
∴ 6  electrons are present in the m - shell of an atom of an element with atomic number 24 and the valancey of the element will be 2 and the element is Chromium

the shells are arranged in K, L, M ,N ......

the first shell will have 2 electrons,the second will have 8 and so on with respect to the formula 2n² where n is the number of shell.

the electronic configuration of the element with atomic number 24 is,
2, 8 , 8 ,6.

K = 2
L = 8
M = 8
N = 6

thus ,
8 electrons are present in the M shell of the 24th element.

hope it helps!!!!
