Sommerfeld retained Bohr's first orbit, and added one elliptical orbital to Bohr's second orbit, and two, three, four and so on to Bohr's third, fourth, fifth orbits and so on respectively.

So, Two elliptical orbits were added by Sommerfeld to Bohr's third orbit.

The purpose of adding elliptical orbits was to account for splitting of spectral lines in Hydrogen spectrum.

Though, Bohr - Sommerfeld model of atom failed to explain spectrum of atoms with more than one electron, It provided us with two quantum numbers, Principal quantum number discovered by Bohr, Azimuthal quantum number discovered by Sommerfeld.

Also, There were 5 different series of spectral lines observed in Hydrogen spectrum, namely - Lyman series, Paschen series, Balmer series, Brackett series, Pfund series.
