Lets say lateral face has 5 sides. Then 5 edges on one side, 5 on other and 5 on the refracting surfaces since number of refracting surfaces is equal to the number of sides.
Therefore 24=3*n
n = 8
There 8 refracting surfaces and 2 lateral faces.
Hence total number of faces = 10.
