Explanation:

1) In moderate phase, INC was formed in 1885 and their motto was pray, protest, petition. They thought to gain independence from British in a peaceful manner.

It's leaders were WC Banerjee, Surendranath Banerjee.

Most of the moderates were scholars and educated.

2) In Surat 1907, meeting was held, were congress leaders were divided into "Moderates" and "Extremists". Extremists believed that by violence independence can be gained. Some of the leaders were, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat SINGH etc.

3) The last phase was Gandhian Phase were Gandhi ji was the main leader. They fought against British by non-violence. Some of the famous acts were, Salt Satyagraha and QUIT India Movement.
