Salts having the same positive ion are said to be in one family

1. Potassium salts (potassium sulphate)

2. Sodium salts (sodium sulphate, sodium chloride, sodium nitrate and sodium carbonate)

3. Calcium salts (calcium sulphate)

4. Ammonium salts (ammonium chloride)

5. Magnesium salts (magnesium sulphate)

6. Copper salts (copper sulphate)

So in total there are 6 families of salt

NOTE: Positive ion means the first part of the name of a salt... like sodium in the salt sodium chloride

Godspeed.
