answer : 0.1F

see association reaction,

Ni ⇔Ni²+ + 2e-

Cl2 ⇔2Cl- - 2e-

--------------------------

Ni + Cl2 ⇔NiCl2

here in above reaction, it is clear that two moles of electron is required to release the formation of Ni²+ .

hence, n - factor = 2

equivalent of Ni ions = given weight/equivalent weight

= 2.93/{molecular weight/n-factor}

= 2.93/{58.6/2}

= 0.1

1 equivalent = 1F

or, 0.1 equivalent = 0.1F

hence, 0.1F are required to reduces 2.93gm of Ni ions from melted NiCl2.
