Initial solution of 10 % w/v NaOH 100 mL → 10 g NaOH in 100 mL solution or 100 g NaOH/L solution. To this solution then add a certain amount of NaOH to make 10 M solution. Here, 10 M NaOH solution = 10 mole/L or 10 x molecular mass of NaOH = 10 x 40 g/L = 400 g/L solution.
So, one should add (400g – 100 g) of NaOH or 300 g NaOH crystal to the initial solution and pour a certain amount of water to make 1 L solution
