How many grams of CO2 is produce by burning 2.50 mole of CH4 in an excess of O2

Whenever you find such questions……Just write the chemical equation that we are going to form out of it. So that is going to be :

CH4 +2 O2 — CO2 +2 H2O

Now we see that for 1 mol i.e. 16 grams of methane results in 1 mol of CO2 or 44 grams of CO2.

That means for 2.50 moles or 40=(16×2.50) grams of methane (CH4). We will obtain (44×2.50)= 110 grams of CO2 .That's it….
