Answer:

A square shaped kerchief whose side length is the HCF of 120 and 168 will fit with the cloth to have kerchiefs without any waste.

The HCF of 120 & 168 is =24

{ 120= 2³ x 3 x5

168= 2³ x 3 x 7}

So on the Length side(168/24)=7 pieces and on the Breadth side 120/24= 5 pieces can be cut.

So (7 x5)= 35- KERCHIEFS can be cut finally without wasting the cloth.
