How many hormones secreted from islets of langerhans with their function?

1. alpha cells- they secrete glucagon which converts glycogen to glucose.

2. beta cells-they secrete insulin which converts glucose to glycogen.

The islets of Langerhans secrete six types of hormones.

There are the alpha cells that produce the glucagon, responsible for maintaining blood sugar; the beta cells produce insulin and amylin.

Again the delta cells produce somatostatin, the pancreatic polypeptide is produced by the gamma cells, and ghrelin is produced by the Epsilon cells.

These are all functions of the pancreas of a human being.
