total jam in vessel = 100 kg
total jam that can be held in a single jar = 1.75 kg
total no of jars that can be filled from a vessel containing 100 kg of jam = 100/1.75 = 57.14 approx.
quantity of jam in 57 jars = 57*1.75 = 99.75 kg
quantity of jam remained after filling 57 jars
= 100 - 99.75 = 0.25 kg

hope this helps you
