70 kilograms of sugar

Explanation:

There is a gain of 12 percent

therefore, x + x(12/100) = 47.04

x(112/100) = 47.04

112x = 4704

x = 42

where x = mixture sold in rupees

According to ratios and alligations,

45 - 42 = 3 and 42 - 35 = 7

from this, we can say that when 7kg of 45 rupees sugar is used, 3 kg of 35 kg mixture is used to sell it at 42.

Therefore, when 30 kg of 35 rupees mixture is used, 70 kg of 45 rupees mixture is used.
