The number of languages recognised by Indian Constitution is 22 languages and 4 new languages were added to 8th schedule of Indian Constitution. The languages are-

9>Malayalam
10>Tamil
11>Telugu
12>Kokani
13>Manipuri
14>Mathili

22 languages called Scheduled Languages have been recognised and given special status.
Under article 344(1) and 355,The Eight Schedule gives recognition to 22 languages .
