if a ball of mass 2kg is freely falling from a certain height.
initial velocity of ball becomes zero.
i.e., u = 0
acceleration acts on falling ball = Acceleration due to gravity.
i.e., a = g = 10m/s²
now, applying formula, S = ut+ 1/2at²
here, u = 0 , a = g = 10m/s² and t = 1 sec
so, S = 0 × 1 + 1/2 × 10 × 1²
S = 5 m
hence, ball has fallen 5m downward.
