The chemical formula of propene is  

 CH₂=CH-CH₃

Its IUPAC name is prop-1-ene.

It contains one –CH₂ group, one –CH group, one –CH₃ group and one double bond. Hence, propene contains one (-CH₂) methylene units. Its molecular formula is C₃H₆ and its molar mass 42.081 g/mol.
