How many metres of carpet 65 cm wide will be required to cover the floor of a room
which is 13 m long and 11 m wide?

Let x be length of carpet 65 cm = 0.65 m wide. Hence, carpet of 180 m is required to cover the floor.

Total area of floor of room is:

Area of floor = 13 × 11

= 143sq.m

Area of The Floor = 143sq.m

Let x be length of carpet 65cm = 0.65m wide

Carpet of equivalent area of floor need to be used:-

Area of carpet = Area of floor

⇏0.65 × x = 143

⇏ x = 143/0.65

x = 220m

Hence, Carpet of 220m is Required to cover the floor.
