how many mole of fe^2+ ion are formed when excess of iron is treated with 50ml of 4.0M Hcl under inert atmosphere ? assume no change in volume

Since, 4 mol of HCl is present in 1000 ml of solution,
Moles of HCl in 50 ml of 4 M HCl = 
4 mol/1000 ml×50 ml =0.2 mol

Chemical Reaction:   Fe + 2HCl  ----->  FeCl2 + H2

Since, 2 mol or 73 g of HCl is needed to produce 1 mol of Fe2+ ion
So, 0.2 mol of HCl will give = (1/2) x 0.2 = 0.1 mol of Fe2+ ion.
