Mass of SO2 =mass of sulphur + 2×(mass of oxygen)
mass of S= 32 & mass of oxygen=16
So, mass of SO2 = 32+2×16
=32+32
=64
number of moles of given substance = mass of given sample of SO2/total mass of SO2
number of moles in 1.28 grams of SO2 =
1.28/64
=0.02moles
