Zinc rect with nitric acid under different conditions to give different products. Products of reaction depends upon concentration of nitric acid. If four different solutions of nitric acid having different concentrations are prepared,and zinc is allowed to react, then no gas with very dilute acid,N₂O with dilute acid,NO with moderately concentrated acid and NO₂ with hot and concentrated acid is liberated respectively
