In plaster of Paris two molecules of CaSO4 share one molecule of water , we represent only one molecule of CaSO4 for which we show the half molecule of water . actually there is no half molecule of water .it is actually shared by two atoms of CaSO4 so its equivalent form for 1 CaSO4 is 1/2 H2O.
