Hi there,

As we know,

Molar mass of NaCl = 58.4 g/mol

Number of moles in 30.0 g NaCl =30/58.4

= 0.514 Moles.

Hope it will help you

The answer is 0.8 moles.

GIVEN

Mass of Calcium of Chloride = 30 grams

TO FIND

Number of moles.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

We know that mole is defined as the number of elementary entities present in the substance.

Now,

1 Mole of substance = Molar mass of the substance.

We are given a compound named Calcium Chloride.

Molar mass of Calcium chloride = 1 mole

Molar mass of CaCl₂ = 40 + 2 × 35.4 = 110.9g/mol

So,

110.9 grams of CaCl₂ = 1 mole

Therefore,

1 gram of CaCl₂ = 1/110.9

30 grams of CaCl₂ =

 = \frac{1}{110.9} \times 30

= 0.8 moles.

Hence, The answer is 0.8 moles.
