  • CO2 = 12 + 16 × 2 = 12 + 32 = 45 [ C = 12u and O = 16u]

  • 2.5 kg = 2.5 × 1000 = 2500 g

Method 1 :

We know that:

1 mole of atoms = Gram atomic mass

So, 1 mole of limestone = Gram atomic mass of limestone

= 45 g

Now,

45 g of limestone = 1 mole of limestone

2500 g of limestone = 1/45 × 2500 mole

= 1/45 × 2500 mole

= 2500/45 mole

= 55.55 mole

Method 2 :

No. of moles of atoms = Mass of element / molar mass

= 2500/45

= 55.55 mole
