Equation of reaction:

2NaHCO3 -> Na2CO3 + CO2 + H2O

From the equation of reaction, 2moles of 2NaHCO3 gave 1mol of CO2.

Molar mass of NaHCO3 = 23 + 1 + 12 + (16 x 3)  

= 84g/mol

but no. of moles = mass/molar mass

.: no of moles of NaHCO3 = 16.8g / 84g/mol

= 0.2mol

But from the equation of reaction, 2mol of NaHCO3 gave 1mole of CO2

.: 0.2mol of NaHCO3 will give (0.2mol x 1mol)/2mol

= 0.1mol of CO2

0.1 mol of CO2 will be produced.
