How many moles of HCl reacts with 10g MnO2 according to the equation:

MnO2 + 4HCl ----->2H2O + MnCl2 + Cl

MnO2 + 4HCl ----->2H2O + MnCl2 + Cl

We know that,

Moles of reactant/stoichiometry=moles of product /stoichiometry

Moles=n

nMnO2/1 =n HCl/4

n MnO2=mass/molar mass

n MnO2=10/87=0.114

n HCl=4×0.114=0.456
