The number of moles of Na , Cl and O atoms are 0.1 , 0.1 and 0.3 respectively. so the correct option is (2).

We have to find the number of moles of Na, Cl and O atoms present in 0.1 mole of NaClO₃.

Concept : If no of moles of a compound chemical formula

A_xB_yC_z.

is n, then,

  • number of moles of A atoms = n × x
  • number of moles of B atoms = n × y
  • number of moles of C atoms = n × z

Here, number of moles of NaClO₃ is 0.1.

∴ number of moles of Na atoms = 0.1 × 1 = 0.1

number of moles of Cl atoms = 0.1 × 1 = 0.1

number of moles of O atoms = 0.1 × 3 = 0.3

Therefore the correct option is (b) 0.1 , 0.1 , 0.3.
