Given :

1) Molar mass of Na2CO3 = 106 g

2) Mass of Na2CO3 given = 6.3 g

To find :

1) No. of moles of oxygen atoms in 6.3 g of Na2CO3

Solution :

• 106 g of Na2CO3 contain 1 mole

So, 6.3 of Na2CO3 contain mole would be

no. of moles = 6.3 / 106

• We know that, 106 g of Na2CO3 contains 3 mole of oxygen atom

• Therefore, 6.3 g of NaCO3 will contain no. of moles of oxygen

= 3×6.3 / 106

• no. of moles of oxygen atom, n = 0.18 (approx)

n = 0.18
