In angiosperms inside a pollen grain one vegetative cell and one generative cell is present out of which the generative cell shows mitosis later on to form two haploid nuclei thus there are three haploid nuclei in a pollen whereas in embryo sac 3 nuclei are present towards the chalazal end in the antipodals two in the centre in the form of secondary nuclei and three at the micropylar end one in each of the two synergids and one in the egg or oosphere so in total there are 8 nuclei in the embryo sac.
