Four bases

Attached to each sugar ring is a nucleotide base .the four bases r Adenine (A), Guanine (G), Cytosine (C), and Thymine (T). The first two (A, G) are examples of a purine which contains a six atom ring and five atom ring sharing two atoms.

The three most common conformations of DNA are A-DNA, B-DNA, and Z-DNA which have 11, 10.5, and 12 bp / turn, respectively. The B-DNA form is presumed to be the dominant form. The total number of nucleotides in the human genome is approximately 3 billion, in the 23 pairs of chromosomes (normally).
