Explanation:

Oil and gas takes between tens of millions and hundreds of millions of years to form naturally. About 70 percent of current oil deposits derived from the Mesozoic period, which lasted from 65 million years to 150 million years ago.

Answer:

Hydrocarbons were being used 4 - 5000 years ago in the form nature made them over those millions of years. Of course many of the applications required a refining process to whittle "raw" oil down to gasoline, jet fuel, etc and for the other thousand or so extracts of the raw products.

This conservation from the ground to your fuel tank can be a matter of days in the right environment or months in some cases according to where it originated vs where the final product is marketed.

Small integrated companies in the US can and do produce, refine and retail in a relatively area and do so in days while oil form the ME travels by ship to the texas coast, is pipelined into a refinery, processed and the fuel transhiped back to an overseas market.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU BUDDY.....
