If repetition is not allowed

Hundred's place has 9 possibilities - 1,2,..9

Ten's place also has 9 possibilities (since 0 can also be in the ten's place)

And unit's place has 8 possibilities.

Therefore the number of digits will be -

9*9*8 = 648 numbers.
