Given :  collinear points

To find : *How many of the following points are surely collinear?*

1️⃣ three 2️⃣ four 3️⃣ two 4️⃣ five

Solution:

Points are called collinear if they line on the same line.

For any given two points (x₁ , y₁)  and (x₂ , y₂) equation of lines can be found as

(x- x₁)/(x₂ - x₁)  = (y-y₁)/(y₂-y₁)

Hence any given two points always lies in a line

More than 2 points are collinear if and only if

slope between any two points taken  from given points is equal

For example  (0,0),(1,1) and (2 , 2) are collinear

but (0,0) , (0, 1) , (1,1)  are not collinear

Hence three or more  points not necessarily collinear points

So correct answer is Two

Two points are surely collinear
