But when you ask “Where do you live in Banglore” it clearly means you are asking for the location of the person’s residential address in Bangalore.

When you ask “where do you stay in Bangalore’ it could also mean that you are inquiring where the person finds temporary accommodation during his visits to Bangalore.

It is usual to say “I live in Jayanagar” and “I stay at Hotel President at Jayanagar”

Stay is for temporary accommodation unlike Live.
