Digestion is both extracellular and intracellular in an cnidarian. The food is captured by the tentacles and directed to the gastro-vascular cavity of body.First, the digestion takes place in the cavity (extracellular)

And then inside the food vacuole (intracellular). Gastro-vascular cavity is branched and opens to the exterior by mouth.
