How many p-block elements are there according to the new periodic table of 2016?Why aren't they 36? Is I(53) a p block element?​

Consequently there are six groups of p–block elements in the periodic table numbering from 13 to 18. Boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine and helium head the groups.That was UCL chemist Andrea Sella telling the tale of iodine, element number 53.
